Referral Traffic (Visitors)
A referral link sends visitors to your site from another website. Traffic from sites other than the major search engines is referred to as referral traffic.
When someone clicks a link on a website or social network and is then taken to another site, Google Analytics or HubSpot tracking software tracks that individual as referral traffic.
The originating website, which refers traffic from one site to the other, is referred to as the 'referrer'.
